When is the release date for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet?

Is Pokémon Scarlet and Violet an open world game?

With the debut of the Generation 9 version of Pokémon, fans have been eager for more news. The wait for more information regarding Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is over. Nintendo is releasing a second trailer for the game, giving us more details about the setting and new roster. The trailer can be seen below, and details the starters and Legendary choices these two new Switch titles will have.

The new trailer also revealed that the game will have four-player full cooperative support, a first for the franchise. Players will be able to team up and explore the new Spanish-themed region in larger groups than ever before. This is where the first major departure for the formula kicks off, with a much more open world this time around. The game map has seemingly been opened up, with lessons taken from Arceus applied to the development of this new title.

But a new region and roster doesn’t mean we’re straying too far from series convention. Professor’s Sada and Turo guide young Trainers in their starting journey, mostly by helping them pick their starters. We once again get the formula of three starters with Grass, Fire and Water base types. Sprigatito, the grass-type cat Pokémon that fills that slot. Fuecoco is a fusion of fire and crocodile, in the vein of Totodile from a previous game. Quaxly is the starter for the water slot, a duck with a sense of style.

We also catch a glimpse towards the end of the featured legendary Pokémon for each version. The large red one for Scarlet is named Koraidon, and the purple one for Violet is named Miraidon.
