The calendar for Steam sales is very predictable, as Valve likes to keep things consistent. And that means we’re getting close to the next sale, the 2021 Lunar New Year Sale. As to when this next Steam sale happens, we have a new leak to go by. Valve almost never announces dates until a few days ahead of time at the earliest, so these leaks are the best way to plan ahead.
As usual, this new leak comes from Steam partners, so it’s usually pretty reliable. Despite these often being accurate, there’s always a potential for these leaks to be wrong. So it’s best to take all of this with a grain of salt. That being said, let’s talk about what could be coming.
According to Steam Database (@SteamDB) on Twitter, the Steam Lunar New Year Sale will kick off on February 11 and run until February 15, which means that we’re only about a month away from the next Steam sale. You have plenty of time to nurse that wallet into a decent shape to splurge on some new games. Maybe get ready to pick up what you missed in the last sale.
As for when it starts exactly, things are a bit unclear, but we can use previous sales to gauge things. Usually, Steam sales begin the day of and start around 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, then they run until midnight on the final day. So if these dates are accurate, you have some time to get prepared.
We don’t know what games are coming though we can expect a few good AAAs to be mixed in with the indies. The Lunar New Year sales are often less popular for developers and publishers to run discounts, compared to the likes of a Winter Sale. Still, it’s a pretty good way to save some money. So go prowl your Discovery Queue and wishlist some games now to be prepared.
