When does Warframe Operation Scarlet Spear start?
Warframe Operation Scarlet Spear is the next in-game event and content drop for Digital Extreme’s free-to-play shooter. The new event will add the Scarlet Spear Flotilla Relay to the Star Chart, bringing a bunch of new missions and other content. At the core of this event is the new offensive against the Infestation, as well as a much more dangerous Sentiet menace, that has been destabilizing the system for many years.
With Warframe Operation Scarlet Spear players will take to their Railjacks and begin a new offensive against their old enemies. The Railjack missions will now be converted to a raid-like format where those in space fight against one part of the raid, while Warframes on the ground engage in targeted attacks against instillations.
The ground teams are tasked with assaulting and defending various critical points from hordes of Sentients while working to gain access to a Kill Code from Sentient Condrix. This is then transported over to their allies in space via the Operation Link Beacon.
In the Railjack, your objective will be to infiltrate the Sentient Murex, and to use its beacon to transmit the kill code to the Sentients all over the system. Anu Mantalysts and Anu Interference Drones will attack the Railjacks and their pilots to attempt to slow them down.
To take part, you need to be at least Mastery Rank 3, which is pretty much anyone playing even casually.
So when does all of this happen? All we know of Operation Scarlet Spear’s release date is that it’s due sometime this week. The event is live now on PC, and is coming soon to the console platforms on PS4, Xbox One and Switch. The event should run for a few weeks. It’s also possible that DE will extend the event in response to COVID-19 disrupting things.
