Harvest Moon: One World is the next big potential release for the Nintendo Switch. Harvest Moon is a series that has some minor similarities to Animal Crossing. But with Animal Crossing you’re going to be spending time interacting with your neighbors and building your ideal city or island paradise.
Harvest Moon: One World, on the other hand, is a game more about farming. Games like Stardew Valley took a lot of inspiration from this franchise. Harvest Moon: One World is all about jumping through the hoops of farming, crafting and interesting with socially strange folks in a fantasy setting. Players can sell crops, spend their day lounging on the beach, or just hang out with their various in-game friends.
One World is described as “a brand-new way of exploring Harvest Moon that seasoned players and new generations will both enjoy.” The game uses a new engine and graphics backend, giving a new look to the classic franchise. Creator Natsume assured fans that it has still “retained the traditional, family-friendly farming fun that the franchise is known for.”
“Buoyed by a mysterious discovery, players will find themselves setting out on an adventure that spans not only their hometown but the whole world!” Natsume says. “What kind of people and places await? From the gorgeous beaches of Halo Halo to the snowy mountains of Salmiakki, there’s literally an entire world to explore.”
The exact release date for Harvest Moon: One World is still a bit of a mystery. But the developer has teased fans that the game is coming in Fall 2020.
The date could shift as well, with the ongoing pandemic. There has not been any news of delays or such shifts with this project, but I would be prepared for something to get weird if I were you.
