What to do to appease Gnomes in the Sims 4

How to appease Gnomes in The Sims 4 Seasons

The Sims 4 has added tons of new content over the years. In The Sims 4: Seasons, the Harvestfest holiday includes an activity called “Holiday Gnomes”. During this activity, a bunch of Gnomes infests your town. Lots all over the place will be covered in gnomes, and you have to get rid of them. The purpose of the mechanic is to give the Gnomes gifts, and you have to pick the right one. Giving the wrong gift can cause tons of chaos.

What happens if you don’t give them the correct gift?

If you fail to appease Gnomes in The Sims 4, they get angry and start causing chaos in myriad ways. You can also trigger this effect if you kick them intentionally. To get them to stop, you have to beg them for forgiveness. If you fail that check, you can even get your sim struck by lightning. The reward for giving the gnomes gifts is Seasonal Seeds.

There are a total of 12 gnomes that you may encounter during the event.

The Harvestfest triggers in the Fall, so have some gifts ready around that time. The best things to give Gnomes in The Sims 4 are things like candy, pie, coffee, fruit cake and more. They will also sometimes need items like future cubes. The community has put together a great chart to tell at a glance what item to give each gnome.

Use the chart above and pick the gift based on the appearance of the Gnome in question. YOu could also roleplay it and intentionally fail the quest. Despite the fun chaos, you won’t get any of the 14 new decorations added by the event.

If you don’t want to bother with the mechanic at all, there is a way around them. Go into the game options under Holidays and turn the option off, this will prevent them from spawning. When you open the calendar, on the left-hand side it’ll have a list of upcoming holidays. In that list, you can click on the pencil to edit the holiday.
