The launch of The Witch Queen campaign for Destiny 2 has a lot of players asking questions. With a new world to explore, there’s a lot to get done. And doing those tasks means you have a ton of new ranks to earn in the seasonal rewards track. Along with that, comes a suite of bonus rewards as well. Players looking to get into the new content have a lot to learn. This particular guide will run through one of the new offensive abilities given to fans, Void Volatility in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 has added a literal ton of new items and mechanics in its latest expansion. Bungie fans are salivating over all of the new exotics that just dropped. The new weapon crafting system in Destiny 2 The Witch Queen is a huge addition to the game. Gathering and using resources to make the weapons and gear you want is a huge uplift in the quality of life for the game. Players are busy rushing around, trying to find those new Deepsight weapons and caches, learning what secrets they hold. You have a lot to do when it comes to actually earn all these new weapons.
What is Void Volatility in Destiny 2?
Void Volatility is a debuff applied to foes, much like Suppression or other effects. This particular one offers a new variant to use in both PvE and PvP that will help you out in battle. This happens as a massive detonation triggers as the status builds up. Bungie describes it as “The target will explode in a Void detonation upon taking additional damage. If the target dies before Volatile has taken enough damage to detonate, the detonation happens anyway.”
You’re meant to use this new status as a debuff combined with your Guardian class. Each class has different ways of applying Void Volatility. Warlocks have a melee ability tied to it with their Pocket Singularity. Titans can apply it with the Sentinel Shield and the Controlled Demolition Aspect abilities. Players who are running Hunters can utilize the Moebius Quiver Super attack to apply it. But there’s one more way to make use of it.
If your Super or other class ability is on cooldown, you can make use of Volatile rounds fired by weapons with the Volatile Flow mod to apply Void Volatility in Destiny 2. This same effect can be triggered by collecting Void Elemental Wells that spawn. Just like other Elemental Wells, you can tune your perks to make these spawn more often.
