Bayonetta 3 was first announced on December 17, 2017, and has gone completely quiet since then. There’s even a Twitter account that was created to lament that there’s no Bayonetta news, posting the same meme each day. That has finally changed. There’s finally been some freaking news about the sequel.
After years of not hearing anything, the Bayonetta 3 release date has finally been given some finality. We don’t have a completely firm date yet, but we know the initial window. In the September 2021 Nintendo Direct, Platinum Games revealed that Bayonetta 3 is scheduled for a 2022 release and will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. While Platinum Games gave no specific release date, more info is certainly coming soon.
We can expect the likes of gameplay trailers and other content to come out soon. The Direct didn’t have much for fans to chew on, but it’s at least something.
Platinum Games will be working on this sequel once again, so expect much of the same insanity from the earlier games. The character designs and combat moves will be just as lustful and weird as they have always been. In short, fans are very happy indeed.
