What are the effects of Items in Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX?

Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX

It has been twenty-four years since the release of PlayStation title Monster Rancher, known in Japan as Monster Farm. The first game spawned numerous other games, as well as an anime series. Koei Tecmo has given players the chance to relive those days with Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX, a bundle containing remasters of the first two titles. Players can actually spawn their own monsters, by using the CD library.

As you unlock more powerful monsters, you will notice something happening at the Shrine in the early game. Each unlock for the rarer breeds requires a certain series of steps. To actually get access to the full monster roster, you need to complete a few steps for each monster breed. The breed unlock process relies heavily on making progress through the ranks of the Breeder system. As you raise more powerful monsters, you have to manage their feeding, training and overall care. The better care you take of a monster, the better they do in fights and Expeditions.

Active Boost Items

These items are given as feed or special treat items to monsters during the week. Open up your inventory to choose an item and give it to them.

Combination Items

Giving each of these items to a monster will have certain effects. Getting them can be a random event from Expeditions, or you can get them from Shrine generations. It depends on how you play the game. Using combo items can help a lot when you want to give a stat boost to a monster at the start of their training.

Also, every time you upgrade your house, will get 20 new inventory slots. So keep on top of upgrades if you find yourself running out of space.
