Alongside the new Warhammer: Chaosbane witch hunter DLC, the ARPG has a new patch that brings in new content and tweaks. The balance fixes and changes are the huge focus here, as every class got some degree of attention. Players will find that new builds and skill choices should be more viable. And you will want to power up all the old classes, as the DLC ratchets up the tension and difficulty.

The new Witch Hunter class is a common fixture in the wider Warhammer Fantasy setting, and adds a welcome bit of flair to proceedings. Check it out in action in the trailer above. Along with the class, comes a horde of balance changes, with tweaks to the math behind all the other classes. Abilities have also been reshuffled a bit.

Alongside all the balance changes is all the new content. Players will get to experience a new hub world that leads into new zones, filled with tons of terrifying foes. There’s plenty of loot brimming to be collected as well. The developers have added a nice injection to increase enemy variety, shoring up one weakness in the armor of this stunning game.

In our review, we noted that it was a fun but somewhat shallow game, but that has certainly gotten better over time. Another patch added the new Invasion Mode, creeping up the challenge for veteran fighters. The changes from the recent patch will certainly do more to bring players back.

Release of the Witch Hunter

Jurgen Haider, the Witch Hunter makes his way into Warhammer: Chaosbane. The Witch Hunter is able to switch between 2 styles, either getting up close and personal with his sword, or exhausting the gunnery school’s ammo reserves as you rain down bullets on those who would oppose you. (Witch Hunter DLC Required)

    • Act 1: Quests 5+7 have been replaced by a raid in Nuln Cemetary

Balance:

  • Regeneration skills for all heroes
  • Improved animation transitions for the heroes
  • Legendary Skill “Endurance” – Maximum Damage taken reduction decreased from 30% to 20%

Vollen

  • Base block rating decreased from 10% to 5%
  • “Sacred Reward” and “Purified Favor” – superior skills bonus duration is increased
  • “Empire Justice” – Cooldown increase (9s to 12s). Animation have been fastened
  • “Pistolier” – Animation speed increased. Level 3 deals more damage but costs more energy (35 instead of 25)
  • “Wisdom of the Apothecary” – Level 1 Cooldown bonus reduction increased (-25% to -30%). Level 2 allied healing increased (20% to 30%)
  • “Divine Reprisal” – Damage bonus increased from 20/25/30% to 20/30/40%
  • “Purifier’s Favour” – Counterattack damage bonus increased from 20/20/30% to 30/30/40%
  • “Herald of the Empire” – Level 3: damage bonus increased (20 to 30%) and defense bonus decreased (20 to 15%)
  • “Banner of the Order” – Defence bonus decreased (30 to 20%). Level 2: duration increased from 16s to 18s

  • “Phoenix Bulwark” – Damages increase, duration increased. Level 2 now is a Magic skill instead of Fire. It nows add Slow to enemies instead of Burn.
  • “Step Between Worlds” – Damage increased. Ground mark duration decreased
  • “Absorption” and “Arcane Banishment” – superior skills bonus duration is increased
  • “Aetheric Vortex” – Animation increased. Defense bonus reduced on level 2 (20% to 10%)
  • “Aether Intelligence” – Damage bonus increased (25 to 30%)
  • “Arcane Binding” – Damage bonus increased (20 to 30% and 30 to 40% at level 3)
  • “Quaysh mastery” – Damage bonus increased (20 to 30%)
  • “Aqhy mastery” – Damage bonus increased (20% to 30%)

  • “Aetheric Ray” – Level 2 effect duration increased (12s to 18s)

  • “Arcane Manifestation” – Level 2: Defense bonus decreased (20 to 10%)
  • “Relentless Sentinel” weapon – Immobility time needed to trigger the bonus effect has been reduced

Bragi

  • “Call to Oath” – Increase of Damage Bond (20% to 30%), of the speed bonus at level 2 (20% to 30%) but decease of the duration (15s to 10s)
  • “Laceration” – Stun chance reduced (30 to 20%) but increased the level of Armor Piercing (30 to 40%). Life gained from the death of enemies decreased (20 to 10%)
  • “Body Count” and “Second Wind” – superior skills bonus duration is increased
  • “Trial of Blood” – Damage bonus increased (20 to 30%)
  • “Relentless Carnage” – Damage bonus increased (20 to 30%). Energy you get back at level 2 reduced (4 to 3)
  • “Unstoppable” – Life level trigger decreased (20/30/50% to 10/20/30%)
  • “Spite Smite” – Enemies life level for trigger decreased (30/40/30% to 20/30/30%) but damage increased (20/20/30% to 30/30/40%)
  • Heart Seeker” weapon – Damage Bonus increased depending on missing life

Elessa

  • “Barbed Brambles” – Animation speed up. Damage increase. Level 2 now deals Poison Damage. Level 3 now deals Physical Damage
  • “Dashing Dagger” – Damage decreased
  • “Spinning Blade” – Turning projectile lasts longer (24s to 30s)
  • “Queen’s Reward” and “Force of Nature” – superior skills bonus duration is increased
  • “Hungry Roots” – Level 2 and 3 effects are switched: Level 2 deals now poison damage and level 3 physical
  • “Master of Poison” – Damage bonus increased (20 to 30%). Level 2 poison duration increased (4s to 5s). Slow effect chance decreased (20 to 10%)
  • “Follow Tracks” – Level 3: damage bonus increased (20 to 30%) but duration reduced (6s to 3s)

  • “Experimental Mine” – cooldown removed, energy cost lowered, bigger hitbox. It is now possible to have 10 mines on the ground (up from 5)
  • “Precise calculation” and “Divine inspiration” – superior skills bonus duration is increased
  • “Alternating Pistons” – Defense bonus decreased (20 to 15%) but damage bonus increased (20 to 25%).
  • “Upgraded Radiator” – Defense bonus decreased (20 to 15%)
  • “Upgraded Automaton” – Level 2 Defense bonus decreased (20 to 15%). Level 3 damage bonus increased (30 to 40%)
  • “Blessed Boiler” – Damage bonus increased (20/30/40% to 30/40/50%)
  • “Volatile Vapor” – Damage bonus increased (50/75/100% to 50/100/150%)

Bug Fixes

  • When combining 3 gems of different colors during God Craft, the summoned pet skills can now be boosted
  • Keela now gets rings properly in Invasion Mode
  • Knockback effect has been fixed on Ungor Grunts, Raiders, and Pink Horrors
  • In multiplayer, the Relic Hunting Combo-meter is correctly synchronized between players
  • Life steal effect has been fixed.
  • Bragi – “Blood of the Dawi” – Hitpost cost has been fixed
  • Bragi – “Ancestor’s Gift” – level 2 is now working correctly
  • Elessa – “Throny Arrows” – level 2 is now working correctly
