Warframe‘s New War expansion has a tentative release date, and some new details. The fight for the survival of the Tenno heats up, starting this December. Yes, this is that expansion originally teased all the way back in 2018. DE officially revealed New War as a major story addon back at TennoCon 2021 this past July. Now, we are finally getting to see it in action.
Digital Extremes has been tight-lipped about the big new content update for some time. Misfires with some previous content updates have left fans wondering, and hoping for a better tomorrow. Well, when next month rolls around, things are heating up. One of the core elements of the game which hardcore fans found lacking was the lack of story progress. That all changes soon.
Warframe‘s New War expansion will answer some “longstanding questions about its bold and intimate story,” and lead players into a new chapter. But developer Digital Extremes is not content to let a sleeping dog lie. The next month will see a major revamp of the grind inherent to the game. Players will be able to use Aya and Regal Aya, new currencies to farm for powerful items.
That all revolves around the Prime Resurgence event. Gamers will have to grind out Aya, then spend it on prime weapons, armor and Warframes. There’s a chance to get both vaulted and unvaulted items. You can even get Relics if you feel like doing some good old RNG-based cracking.
“Prime Resurgence will bring powerful Prime Warframes to players that participate, and will create an exciting experience for newcomers and Warframe collectors while preparing everyone for the launch of The New War,” Digital Extremes chief operating officer Sheldon Carter said.
