Warframe’s Lotus is going to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit

Warframe’s Lotus is going to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit

Lotus, otherwise known as Space Mom to the Warframe community, will be undertaking a new journey soon. Her journey to protect the Tenno is taking on an entirely new tone and setting as Lotus makes a crossover with the Nintendo Switch. That’s because Nintendo and Digital Extremes are going to bring Lotus to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s Spirits are a unique invention of the franchise that allows the developers to expand the roster without having to commit tons of development resources to the task. This has allowed Nintendo to create the biggest roster in the franchise with characters appearing from throughout Nintendo properties as well as various iconic gaming franchises.

Unlocking spirits involve taking on the new character as part of a spirit battle, where beating them unlocks the new character. This new addition can then be used in battle alongside the main fighters as a powerup. There’s tons of combos with Spirits and tons of tactical decision-making involved in the competitive scene around these, so Lotus is sure to introduce some fun into the meta.

Players can unlock Lotus during the  “Sprits in Balck” event that will be running in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate starting Feb. 28. Lotus is a two-star primary spirit, making her a reasonably powerful addition to the roster. The path to unlocking Lotus involves defeating Bayonetta in a spirit battle. Head to the Spirit Board on the 28th to take your shot. The event is due to begin on Feb. 28 and will end on Mar. 4.
