Warframe deploys new patch to PC, Operation: Buried Debts
We’re getting stuck into 2019, and the glorious loot shooter that is Warframe, and Digital Extremes is not pulling any punches. Just one week after the launch of the Nightwave content series, developer Digital Extremes has unleashed Warframe‘s first community event of 2019, Operation: Buried Debts.
The big new focus with this patch is of course the new PvE event, which carries the namesake of the patch. There’s tons of new content to play through, and new foes to take down. So you better gear up and get ready to jump in.
Here’s the overview of the story for this new mission from the developer:
Thermia fractures are cracking open the surface of Venus, a consequence of Nef Anyo’s unrelenting greed. He’s willing to do whatever it takes for a quick profit, including putting the whole Orb Vallis at risk. Over the next several weeks, work alongside the community and Solaris United to locate, uncover, and solve a multi-part Operation and the mystery lurking below the surface.
Players who complete this new event can earn special rewards which can only be unlocked through this event. There’s new Emblems and Sigils, Amalgam Mods, and the Opticor Vandal which can all be gained by completing this event. But be warned, it won’t be easy.
Some other big new changes include the first phase of combat changes which at this point are geared towards melee and combo abilities. One great new addition is the ability to pick up attack combos where you left off if they’re interrupted by firing a weapon or jumping. Blocking attacks is also now automatic, streamlining combat a bit.
And in addition to the new patch, there’s also a new Warframe being added to the game. This new frame, called Hildryn, brings some heavy damage and tanking capability to the game with a beefy new style. She also has a stable of new abilities which make her a serious threat in combat.
Charge and launch devastating bolts of fire.
Pillage a percentage of Shields and Armor of nearby enemies to replenish Hildryn’s own Shields and Overshields.
Create a Shield aura around allies. Enemies that approach Shielded allies will take damage.
Take to the skies and rain Balefire rockets down on the enemy. Nearby enemies are blasted into the air where they will create an Energy Orb every few seconds. When Shields run out the enemies are smashed into the ground.
There’s also some new skins for other frames in 24.4, there’s some new weapons too.
You can check out trailers for both the new frame and the new in-game event down below. Learn more about the new patch by going to the main site.
