Valorant is the new game coming from the MOBA titan of Riot Games. Spawning a much more varied library than their flagship League of Legends, Riot is looking to storm into the eSports scene with a new 5v5 competitive shooter. The game uses varied weapon loadouts to create a solid meta-game, and player skill will be a huge factor in high-end play. That means you hardware needs to be top-notch to squeeze out stable performance. Valorant system requirements are going to need to support a wide range of gamers to capture that mass appeal though, let’s see how they stack up.
The Valorant system requirements are pretty wide in terms of support. But given that the new Riot title is a shooter where weapon choice and reaction time are vital to good play, being able to run at a higher frame rate often confers a higher advantage. According to Riot Games, “Valorant is optimized to perform on a wide variety of PC hardware, allowing for a global audience to compete.” Which squares quite well with their obvious goal of pushing the title as a new contender in the eSports scene.
The game looks to run on pretty much anything, although you will want to aim for the upper end of these specs, or even better hardware if you want to be competitive. The 144 FPS tier of performance that has become more and more of a standard these last few years is a great mark to aim for. And with modern PC hardware, even on budget GPUs like GTX 1060 or 1660 variants, are a great graphics card option. CPUs are even more varied, with the 2014 Haswell i5-4460 being handily beaten by modern AMD offerings like first and second-generation Ryzen.
