Undead Labs finally has more details on the open-world zombie game, State of Decay 2. Originally announced at E3 2016, there’s finally a release date for the hungry hordes of fans from the original title.
State of Decay 2 will release on 22 May on PC as part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program.Revealed via IGN First, State of Decay 2′s release date and price have been revealed. The game will release on May 22 for $29.99, with an Ultimate Edition costing players $49.99.
This announcement is the first in a series of reveals that will show up on IGN.
Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg also explained the price point:
“Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise. We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game.”
State of Decay 2 Ultimate Edition will allow the player early access to the game, State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, and the Independence and Daybreak post-launch DLC packs.
As a Windows 10 PC and Xbox One exclusive, some gamers will likely be disappointed if they aren’t running with either of those platforms. But there is a potential bright spot for some planning to upgrade. If you are subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass, you will be able to play State of Decay 2 as part of that service.
