Ubisoft Connect is the new service for PC gaming from Ubisoft. The services is a fusion of existing Uplay and Ubisoft Club apps and offer many of the same features under new branding. Players will be able to take on various challenges in-game and earn rewards. They also get access to other new features as well.
The more games you play, the more rewards you can earn. This is being billed as a loyalty program that’s geared towards fun over intrusion. PC gamers will be able to access their entire Ubisoft library. And with the Rewards, there’s plenty of stuff to do. The game hub that this creates will be the final evolution of Ubisoft’s efforts in the PC gaming space. It remains to be seen if future offerings will be rolled into the fold. It’s an entirely free service that’s open to all players, so at least it’s easy to get into.
Ubisoft Connect launches alongisde Watch Dogs: Legion on October 29. You can check out more details on the official FAQ if you’re interested.
The new system is said to aim “at giving the best environment for all players to enjoy their games and connect with each others whatever the device” and will have a variety of different features aimed at a few different niches. Ubisoft is aiming for the service to replace Uplay and to offer cross-play as well. The company promises that most of its new games will work with all of the new features. There are some games that won’t though, so expect some Uplay titles to lose support for certain features.
Some older features, like Rewards, will be phased out. These are being replaced with new Ubisoft Connect Challenges Ubisoft has already unlocked many Club rewards for these games as compensation. The final tally of unlocked Club rewards stands at over 1,000.
Various launch titles—including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals: Fenyx Rising and Watch Dogs: Legion— have been confirmed for Ubisoft Connect, offering a wide range of experiences.
