A Total War Saga: Troy releases today on August 13 to the Epic Games Store. It will an exclusive title for that platform until sometime in Summer 2021, when it will finally make the jump over to Steam. When it becomes available, on August 13, for 24 hours, anyone with an Epic Games Store account may claim Total War Saga: Troy for free, no questions asked.

All you have to do is log not to the storefront, claim the game, and it’s yours forever. That’s all you have to do. There’s no special promotion or requirement to purchase the DLC first. You have to do it within the game’s initial 24-hour launch, and then you’re good to go. So here’s how to get Total War Saga: Troy for free.

Here’s the link to the store page for the actual game. Login into the Epic Games Store account that you have, either via the website or the launcher, then move over to that page. Once there, you simple need to click the “Get” button on the page and claim the free game. Also be sure to check the store page as well — as the next batch of free games, including Remnant: From the Ashes, has also launched for free for the next couple of weeks — giving you something else to have fun with.

The store page on the launcher also has a header that leads right to the page for the free game, so you can just click that if you want, provided you’re logged in of course.

There’s no confirmation if this promo will land on the Steam launch as well. A Total War Saga: Troy comes out via Steam in Summer 2021. It’s pretty unlikely that Sega will strike the same deal with Valve that it managed to garner with Epic. Although
