The World Ends With You gets a Switch release date

The World Ends With You: Final Remix Switch Trailer

Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch version of super-fast and stylish action game, The World Ends With You, will launch this autumn. In case you’ve never heard of this game, there’s an acceptable reason for that. The original version of the game released on the DS more than a decade ago, The World Ends With You: Final Remix will bring a much more updated and modern version of the game to the portable masterpiece of a console that is the Switch.

The gameplay has been significantly altered to adapt it to the Switch control scheme, and the overall look of the game has been given a pretty nice makeover. Final Mix also includes an additional scenario and remixed soundtrack, plus the chance to bring a mate along for the ride with two-player co-op.

The original game was developed by Square Enix and the studio Jupiter, giving it a very Kingdom Hearts feel. That same feel of action game has been brought forward into this game as well. The vibrant art style and unique setting made the game a joy back in 2007, and that effect will probably be intensified on the Switch version, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Check out the trailer for The World Ends With You: Final Remix down below. The World Ends With You: Final Remix releases for Switch on October 12th, 2018 in the US. The Japanese version lands on September 27th.
