With X019 beginning today, Xbox fans all over the globe are getting ready to see what games are coming for the gaming platform from Microsoft. People expect to hear a wide array of news at the presser, with lots of speculation and rumors flying around as to what we’re going to see. One particular rumor that keeps popping up is that Microsoft is holding out on some news concerning their on-demand gaming service, Xbox Game Pass. The rumor is that we may be about to see The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt head to the service.
Xbox Game Pass is a special service that allows Xbox One owners direct access to more than 100 different titles from across the three generations of the platform. It’s a pretty good buy for budget-conscious gamers at only $10 a month. The deal was made ever-sweeter when Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was announced. This new $15 a month plan would grant a user access to both the Game Pass library and Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer fun. Every few months though, the roster of games changes, and new titles are added.
There’s always some hype over which games will come to Game Pass next, and the usual suspects are AAA titles and those with sufficient followings. Plenty of major AAA releases have debuted on the platform as well, like Gears 5 and The Outer Worlds. Although some older titles occasionally make the jump, the cult following of some of these more niche titles doesn’t get as much love as the more general audiences. But according to some rumors around X019, that may about to change as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt heads to the service sometime soon.
