The Sims 4 Get Famous Launch Trailer
The latest expansion pack for The Sims 4 is out, and it’s letting Sims fans start their journey down the road to fame and fortune, well digitally anyway.
In terms of content, Get Famous is actually pretty substantial. Some players often tend to complain about content packs for The Sims franchise being fairly threadbare, this doesn’t look to be true with Get Famous. This pack is fairly eccentric and over-the-top in terms of what it does add though, so be prepared to radically change your Sims and house designs if you incorporate the additions from this one.
The big focus is, of course, on getting famous. The expansion accomplishes this by adding in new mechanics surrounding a new set of careers, as well as new interactions with existing sets. The two primary career tracks revolve acting and video streaming. So basically, you’re going to become the digital worlds biggest influencer. There are two new aspects that help track your progress towards your goals as well, Fame and Reputation. These metrics coincide with your overall charisma and showmanship to give you a quick peek at how you’re doing.
You can also become famous independently of your career, so you can eventually become a famous doctor, astronaut, or video game streamer.
The gameplay has been tweaked compared to similar mechanics from The Sims 3, so it’s a lot more effort to achieve the top tier of fame and rep. No longer will it be possible to passively stack fame on your entire family, each member has to earn the requisite level of Rep and Fame on their own.
The Sims 4 is available now on PC, Mac, PS4 and the Xbox One. The various versions also have tons of content and expansion packs which add new items, customization options and tons of gameplay mechanics. If you’re wondering what kind of life you’d lead as a famous trendsetter or nightclub-hopping fashionista, The Sims 4 is a dream come true.
