So it turns out that Capcom isn’t quite done with news and reveals for the Resident Evil 2 remake today. After previously releasing some new gameplay footage of Ada Wong, Robert Kendo and more, Capcom now has some gameplay footage of an entirely new area coming into the game with the launch of remake.
The location appears to be a children’s center for orphans complete with a play area and toys strewn about the area. Thing is, everything is covered in the depressing filter of the remake, so things are looking pretty bleak. In terms of what little gameplay we can see from the preview video and images, there are some survivors trapped in this orphonage, and they’ll probably be something Leon and Claire have to work to save, or at least attempt to. That’s because one of the characters is definitely Sherry Birkin.
We can’t tell much else about this new area, but it might be Capcom’s attempt to put in some real horror akin to the nursery from Dead Space 2, or maybe even a nod to the school from the Resident Evil Apocalypse film, which also contained some ravenous zombie kids.
Resident Evil 2 is set to release on January 25, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out the latest gameplay trailer, as well as some preview images, for the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2 down below.
