The release of the next Elder Scrolls game, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, has been pushed back. The Elder Scrolls: Blades was originally slated for a release by the end of December 2018 for the upcoming mobile game, and some fans may be disappointed to learn that the game has now been delayed by a couple of months at least.
Let’s be honest, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a new direction for the franchise, and there’s some speculation among gamers that this new direction choice may have spooked Bethesda a bit in terms of timing. I say this because of the conflagration of bad press from Fallout 76, as well as the blowback from the bungled announcement of Diablo Immortal. It’s also very likely that Bethesda is taking a few extra months to polish the game and make it the best it can be. But I cannot shake the feeling that Bethesda wants to try and salvage some good will from fans before releasing a game that gamers might hate just on principle, rather than the quality of the game itself.
We haven’t heard much about the game since last September, so it’s cool to hear more about the state of the game, or at least it would be if there was anything to this announcement other than the delay.
