The 2019 Steam Summer Sale is live now

Steam Game Discounts

That time of year has come again, it’s time lock your wallet and any financial information in the nearest safe, away from your nearest PC gamer, because the Steam Summer Sale is back again. The sale runs today from June 25th until July 9th.

And of course, there’s the usual themed event going on with this major sale. Valve has kicked off the Steam Grand Prix for this year. Valve has often gamified the Summer Sale with these kinds of events. In essence, the concept is that gamers can pick a team and earn some kind of rewards by completing quests and other tasks. Gamers can pick from teams like Pig, Hare, Tortoise, Cockatiel, or Corgi, with all of their earned points going toward the team they’re assigned. At the beginning of each day, gamers on the team with the most points for completed tasks will get rewards like trading cards, special items, and even more discounts.

Here’s a handful of games, as well as the discounts that they’re being offered on. If you want to see more, check out the Steam Sales page for the full list. And yes, there’s hundreds of games on sale.

These and many more PC games are on offer and it’s a very important year for Steam and Valve as a whole as they have a really big problem. The company has faced increasing backlash from gamers sick of the low-quality of games on the platform, as well as issues with content moderation. And with Epic Game Store knocking on the door, Valve really needs to restore consumer confidence. And despite the really deep discounts and gimmicks, there is still a lot of work left to do for Valve.
