Temtem is the newest game from Humble Bundle, yes that company makes games too. Publisher Humble Bundle and developer Crema are getting ready to drop a new Early Access title that pretty much anyone will be excited by. Temtem is for lack of a better descriptor, an MMO made in the style of Pokémon. You will travel around and capture new creatures to add to your team, with each one having a unique look and move list. The Temtem of the world are rather varied too, each having a distinct personality. I really hope Nuzlocke doesn’t become a thing here though. I don’t think my heart can take losing more cute little monster friends. The game releases on January 21, 2020 and it’s already looking incredible despite just going into Early Access at that time. Check it out in the trailer below.
The Early Access version of the game will cover just the first of four overall islands. And just like its clear inspiration Temtem will separate each region with unique Minions. A pick and ban Ranked PvP will be added as well, looking to offer a competitive option to serious players. But if you’re just in the mood for casual fun, there will be more than 160 different Temtem to capture and train. And just like the major RPG franchise, you have to go in the tall grass to do that. And yes, there will be rare variants, like a Shiny.
But Temtem does have some things Pokémon doesn’t, like housing. Players will be able to buy a house, decorate it, and invite friends over. This may well expand into a more hub-like system in the future as well. And you’re not called trainers, but farmers. Although you will be able to engage with a ranking systems of sorts that compares accomplishments in battles and lets everyone who is the very best. And along the way you will have to take on Boss Dojos, much like Gyms. The game will also have co-op in Early Access, and players can fully customize their characters.
Temtem Early Access will kick off soon. You can finally get to enjoy Pokémon as an MMO environment without having to rely on mods or hacks of other games and content. Should be a pretty joyous time. Until its release on January 21, 2020, you can add it to your Steam or Humble Bundle wishlist.
