Telltale Batman Shadows Edition announced, then disappears

Telltale Batman Shadows Edition

With the sudden reappearance Telltale Games properties through newly announced sequels, like The Wolf Among Us 2, fans of the adventure games the company put out are suddenly very interested again. And now a new press release has DC Comics fans even more interested. Athlon Games published the press release (via Gematsu), which revealed a new game mode coming for the Batman series of games created by Telltale.

The new mode is called Shadows mode, and is described as a “sinister new look” for the game—“a noir-style” redesign. CEO of Telltale Games, Jamie Ottilie was quoted in a press release as saying, “We’re excited to be able to build and continue the legacy of an iconic Telltale Games franchise by launching The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition today.” Strange thing is, that press release has now seemingly disappeared, fueling speculation about a leak or other issue.

The press release also teased more news, saying, “This is just the beginning in a much more expansive plan to build on our catalog of Telltale Games titles, which we hope to discuss in further detail in the coming months.” After the full closure of the original Telltale months ago, this is exciting news for fans.

No further explanation has been given as to why the sudden change occurred. It could be as simple as a typo, or it could be something else. People who noticed it are at a loss though. So whatever, this new Batman thing is, we will probably have to wait a while to hear more news.
