SAO fans just got a treat ahead of the holidays for Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. A bunch of new trailers and announcements have unveieled plans for the next expansion to the game, as well as plans for a new compilation of all the expansions in one.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, let me break it down for you. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet launched in February 2018 as a sequel to Hollow Realization from 2016. This game was based on the Gun Gale Online arc that was within the third overall arc of the manga/anime. But enough about the source material, let’s get back to the announcements.
First Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is getting a new expansion called Dissonance of the Nexus. This new expansion will bring new playable characters to the fold, including one that fans of the original anime arc will know well. Sachi, the former adventuring partner of Kirito from the first arc, makes a return in this new expansion. There’s also two more storylines involved, both centering around the Snow Field location from that first arc.
Bandai Namco is also planning to release a Complete Edition version of Fatal Bullet at some point in the future. This version of the game will include the base game as well as all four of the expansions. This means that Ambush of the Imposters, Betrayal of Comrades, Collapse of Balance, and Dissonance of the Nexus are all in one bundle. Each of these expansions added new story content and other gameplay elements to the base experience of Fatal Bullet, making the $9.99 individual price pretty easy to justify.
Take a look down below to see all of the trailers we mentioned above. These include both the English and Japanese trailers for both Dissonance of the Nexus and Complete Edition. Both Hollow Realization and Fatal Bullet will be coming to Nintendo Switch though no date as of yet. The Complete Edition and fourth expansion will come on January 18, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in North America.
