Super Smash Bros Ultimate is coming soon

Nintendo Switch

As expected, the bulk of Nintendo’s E3 2018 Nintendo Direct presentation focused on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is currently in development as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. Game director Masahiro Sakurai was on hand to guide fans through coverage of the fighting game.

As announced by Nintendo at E3 2018, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be available on December 7, 2018 for the Nitnendo Switch. The game will have the largest roster in Smash history, featuring both new characters and every single character from the other games. Yes, every single one. This means that there are over 60 fighters, some of which haven’t been a part of the series for a decade.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will also have dozens of new stages based on newer and older games, many of which are directly related to the characters being brought back to the ring.

And because it’s inevitable that pro players would want it, The Switch will be able to support Gamecube pads when playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. That means people who’ve spent years learning the controller and its specificity won’t have to learn a whole new layout.
