Star Wars Squadrons Patch 1.1 Released, fixes input and performance problems

How to Drift in Star Wars: Squadrons

Star Wars Squadrons has been given its first major patch for the PC and console releases of the game. Thar starfighter sim has been getting pretty solid responses from fans and outlets who highlight what’s good about the game. The new game will bring the Star Wars universe to life in new ways for those looking for a Rogue Squadron fix, but it has its problems. And with no DLC coming, things might take some time to make better.

Despite the incredible feel of blasting through the stars in big fleet fights, there were issues with performance. The game would often consume 100% of CPU resources, and the animations seem to be rendering poorly. it appears that Star Wars Squadrons Patch 1.1 doesn’t include fixes for these issues. There are some implemented fixes though, so that’s nice. Additionally, it addresses some of the visual effects in VR mode, mostly with an eye to addressing the brightness and bloom issues with certain weapons and instances. Some other visual fixes include fixing VSync troubles and dealing with certain instances of lag.

Players will also be able to adjust deadzone for some input devices, allowing them to tweak controller feel a bit more. Patch 1.1 adjusts the default input curves for Flight Sticks as well, making things more compatible.

There are some technical fixes for low-quality graphics settings being forced on many 3000-series NVIDIA GPUs.
