Star Wars Battlefront II bringing General Grievous to the fight next week

Star Wars Battlefront II Grievous Update

Next week Star Wars Battlefront II will introduce the lightsaber-twirling monstrosity General Grievous in a new update. Said update will arrive on October 30 alongside tweaks to other gameplay elements as well.

General Grievous is incredibly skilled with a lightsaber, and has a suite of terribly effective and strong special moves. His two offensive moves are Thrust Surge and Unrelenting Advance. Each of these abilities has their usefulness. The coolest of these two is Unrelenting Advance, which is pulled directly from the battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi in Revenge of the Sith. Use this ability to catch opponents in spinning wheels of brightly-colored death. The third ability for the character is called Claw Rush. Players should use this to escape a dangerous situation, shoving enemies out of the way and dealing small amounts of damage in a large radius.

Grievous also has two special appearances. His default Jedi Hunter getup is cool, but another skin can be bought in-game, that’s his Battle Damaged Appearance. EA has also revealed that the Battle of Geonosis Update will add a third skin for the character when that launches next month.

The update is part of the Clone Wars content Season, bringing in new game modes, characters and other additions to the FPS.

Speaking of new game modes, there’s some new time-limited Clone Wars-era Playlists for Hero Showdown and Heroes vs. Villains.

Finally, the game’s Star Cards system is getting some adjustments. Some of the least-popular Star Cards are getting replaced with a new series of Cards that grant health boosts. These will be broken up into two types, a Health on Defeat Star Card, and a Defeat with Ability Star Card.

The Star Wars Battlefront II General Grievous update will land on Tuesday, October 30 2018 for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 and will be free. Check out the full details over on the official EA site.
