Halloween season is in full swing, and Nintendo is joining in on the fun with various in-game events in some of their Switch games. The most recent announcement comes for players of the messy shooter Splatoon 2. The spook-themed Splatfest event for October 2018 will come to the game on the Switch, bringing with it in-game gear and some special game modes.
Players of Splatoon already know this, as Splatfest is a monthly event normally in the game. Although during October Nintendo will be shaking things up by throwing some ghosts, goblins and serial killers into the mix. The Splatoween event will run from 3 PM Pacific Time on Friday, October 19 all the way until the same time on Sunday, October 21.
During the Splatoween event window, players can play through the popular Turf Wars mode for some new themed prizes. The event will add four new headgear pieces to Splatoon 2; Kyonshi Hat, Li’l Devil Horns, Anglerfish Mask, and the Jason Voorhees-inspired Hockey Mask. The lobbies and teams during the event will also sport a scary new theme befitting the season.
