Spider-Man on PS4 Getting New Game Plus

Marvel’s Spider-Man Launch Trailer

The Ps4-esclusive web-sling-them-up, Marvel’s Spider-Man is getting a New Game+ mode in an upcoming update. The game has become a smash-hit since it’s launch a few days ago, and it’s easy to see why. The core gameplay mechanics are exactly what fans wanted out of a Spider-Man game. From the web swinging and combat, to the iconic characters and story beats, it’s all there. So it’s not really a surprise that Insomniac Games are working on a New Game+ mode to extend the life of the game.

The announcement was confirmed via Twitter earlier today. And it seems it will work like any other New Game+ mode. Players who complete the game can restart the story with more difficult enemies and puzzles. But to balance the stakes, players keep previously obtained items and XP from the first playthrough

And the extended gameplay mode which increases the difficulty isn’t the only new content headed for the virtual New York City. Next month, “The City That Never Sleeps” DLC will land as well. The City That Never Sleeps will be a three part DLC pack sorted into chapters that each have their own unique gameplay and story elements. There will also be new missions and related gameplay content in this and other DLC. The DLC can be purchased as a bundle for $24.99 USD or individually at $9.99 each.
