Fazan Games has shared two new gameplay trailers for Egress.
What’s Egress you ask? Well, it’s Dark Souls with a Battle Royale twist. Yes, your read that right. Imagine Dark Souls combat with dozens of players, sounds like best kind of nightmare one could ever set their eyes on.
Egress’ combat takes place in a multi-level city with a distinctly Victorian style. Battle your way through legions of unique enemies with their own custom abilities through the streets, sewers and interiors of the city. There are both solo and team queue modes to fit your particular play style.
Each combat style is broken down into major classes with their own weapon and abilities. The Alchemist, Hunter, Vampire Guardian and more will be playable once the game launches.
Combat looks fast-paced and brutal, with different attacks for ranged or melee players, although it looks like it’s much easier to kill a player in Egress than it is in Dark Souls PvP. Although that’s probably a good thing as the game features the typical Battle Royale trope of a restricting play area. In this game, the city is slowly sinking and you have to stay one step ahead of the rising tide to survive.

Egress is launching for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later in 2018.
