Sniper Elite 5 shows off customization and weapon variety

Sniper Elite 5 Weapons Trailer

Sniper Elite 5 offers a level of customization never seen before in the Sniper Elite franchise, offering a ton of new options. The focus in this new sequel is on a mix of realism and player choice. The new system helps support that quite well. Players get to choose their ammunition types, gun parts and more. You can swap to a better mag for faster reloads, or iron sights for short-range accuracy over long-range sniping. The options are much more varied than that, and we’re sure to see more as release creeps up. We do know that the player will find workbenches during levels to change their gear on the fly, a big shift for the franchise. You now have the ability to be much more adaptable out in the field.

For this new game, the team traveled around the globe gathering information and history about the weapons and tactics being used. They even visited the Imperial War Museum and Royal Armouries Museum to capture thousands of reference images and audio recordings to get a true sense of using these weapons in-game. We see a small glimpse of that in the trailer, and it’s impressive. in addition to the focus on realism, there’s a lot more reliable player agency here.
