This week Sega released a new trailer in the continuation of their ‘What is Shenmue?’ series which takes a look at the development of the Shenmue I & II remaster collection. This time, we’re focusing in on two aspects, combat and in-game distractions.
The aforementioned combat is the centerpiece of the trailer. And Ryo will need all the strength he can muster in his quest for revenge. The trailer goes on to explain the original roots of the fighting system in games being traced back to the Virtua Fighter series. We also get to see Ryo in action as he learns new moves throughout the course of the game.
Secondly, there’s a bunch of redone mini-games to waste your time in this version too. Arcade classics like Hang-On and Space Harrier are big draws here as the collection features faithful recreations of those games. But that’s not all, players can also play darts, engage in arm wrestling, and even race fork lifts to their hearts content.
