Shadow of the Tomb Raider has a new trailer, and a Coca-Cola brand deal

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Square Enix has some more announcements about Shadow of the Tomb Raider today.

This time, it’s all about the theatrical debut of the “Making Of” documentary for the upcoming adventure game. And because of course there is, there’s a sponsored deal with Coca-Cola, you know that soft drink company making people fat while owning 1/3rd of the planet alongside PepsiCo, yeah those guys. Anyone who pays to see this in theaters will get a “special” cup and an “in-game reward”. Hooray?

Or if you prefer to pay $5.00 for what is essentially a custom label on a Coke bottle, you have that option now at the Coke store.

And even though Coke, at least in the US, tastes like crude oil freshly dredged from the bowels of a dead whale, I guess it’s pretty “cool” to see more branded synergy and mindless consumerism between mega-corporations, if you’re into that sort of thing. I think I’ll pass.

OK, angry cynicism aside, you can check out the newest trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider down below. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will release on September 14th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If you want more Shadow of the Tomb Raider news, the game is getting a New Game+ mode. we also recently learned that the game won’t be on the Switch. If you want to see more combat, check out the underwater trailer, or the arsenal trailer. You should also take a look at the Collector’s Edition of the game if that’s your kind of thing. And if you want to learn more about the game world, check out some previews of the hub world of Paititi.
