Square Enix has announced that it’ll be releasing another new remaster in 2021. The game getting the polish and revamped visuals this time is SaGa Frontier Remastered. The JRPG classic is getting a pretty big release as well. There will be redone visuals obviously, but the new version of the game will expand on the story and gameplay too. The PS1-era game is getting a more modern look and gameplay that will bring in players new and old.
The reamster will include playability for character Fuse, who was only part of the original game as a side character. The new 2021 version of the RPG will have some other elements that include “new events and features,” though that’s pretty vague. The publisher hasn’t shared many details on what gamers can expect on the new game.
Other teased gameplay changes include a speed-up function that allows players to burn through battles faster akin to newer JRPG conventions. It’s being billed as something similar to the system seen in the Final Fantasy VII and VIII remasters.
