Rocket League Sideswipe is the new mobile-only port of Rocket League, coming soon to a phone near you. The new game will be akin to the main game, and will be exclusive to iOS and Android devices. The launch of the full game will be out later this year. For now though, the game is in a testing phase and will roll out to multiple regions.
This version of the game will feature a bunch of different options like the main game. Psyonix will add in “robust car customization similar to Rocket League,” as well as a bunch of other features. There have been no announcements for cross-play or other cross-platform features. Those that play on the main PC or console versions may or may not be able to get their cosmetics and upgrades into the new version.
The game modes in Rocket League Sideswipe will be scaled versions of the modes from full-fat Rocket League. There will be 1v1 and 2v2 matches with a 2.5D camera in massive arenas. The full 3D camera is being replaced with something more suited to mobile devices. Psyonix will be leading development and allow for the game to get all the attention it deserves.

The game is currently in a pre-alpha state, and will move through testing in the future. Rocket League Sideswipe will get to gamers through testing phases in certain regions. For now, Australia and New Zealand are able to jump in via the Google Play Store. Psyonix also pointed out that they may bring the game to other regions, “in the coming months.”
