Apex Legends – Week One in Review

Respawn and EA have knocked their most recent release, Apex Legends, out of the park in terms of popularity, and they’re just getting started. With the release of a celebratory new video, the team behind the massively popular game just gave fans more news to chew on. With this new video, Respawn takes players through a bit of a celebration of the early success and hype of the game for a bit of a victory lap.

Respawn also announced their plans for the future in some other updates today. So if you want to know what’s coming in Apex, this is the post to read. Firstly, the team wants to make it clear that they are actively working in tandem with player feedback to make the game better. So expect a lot more news about the game and its future as the weeks go on. For now, let’s talk about the immediate future, like the rest of February.

First is the Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge, sponsored by Twitch, taking place Tuesday, February 12 and then the following Tuesday, February 19. If you want to see that, head over to the Apex Legends Twitch channel.

Following that event, Respawn and EA plan to kick off Season One of the Apex Legends’ content plan will kick of sometime in March. The plan is to begin expanding the game with new characters, weapons, loot, and even maps all starting in March. I know I speak for a lot of fans when I say I cannot wait to see what they have planned.

The company is already pushing out updates and new content to the battle royale title, which is a good sign. The first patch for the game just dropped earlier this week. And the first themed cosmetic items came out today for Valentine’s Day. This speed of new content and updates sets a great pace that says great things for the future health of the game. Now it just remains to be seen if Apex Legends can claim the top spot in the battle royale genre from the titan that is Fortnite.
