Resident Evil Village runs at 4K and has ray tracing on PS5

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village is shambling toward release. Capcom has been making it a priority to focus on the mixture of performance and visual quality.

All of this will see the game running at a new level of visual fidelity for the franchise. A big part of that involves the push to have ray tracing support in the game. A nice spooky atmosphere hinges on having good lighting effects, and having a much more moody lighting engine in the new game will go a long way to making it more immersive.

The game on the PlayStation 5 will have a bunch of improvements that make it possibly the ideal RE experience. Capcom says the visually impressive game will also have “almost no load times,” with the new SSD doing the work. There is one downside though, as the resolution support on more powerful next-gen hardware is not a full 4K. Granted, 4K isn’t even technically 4K resolution, so it’s not a big deal. Capcom has decided to go for dynamic resolution with a 4K target instead.

And in addition to ray tracing other visually cool features, the game will also have unique elements for the PS5 port. The PS5 version of Resident Evil Village will have various other features as well. Some of these are similar to other PS5 games with things like haptic feedback. Here’s the list of what the Resident Evil Village PS5 port will include in terms of unique features:
