Resident Evil 3 Remake Train Route Puzzle Solution

How to unlock Nightmare and Inferno Mode in Resident Evil 3 Remake

Resident Evil 3, much like the rest of the franchise, is a game rife with backtracking and small environmental puzzles. Players with keen eyes and intuition should be able to figure most of them out. The one that seems to be giving players trouble is the train route puzzle in the remake. This particular puzzle doesn’t involve finding items in the world, it’s a logic-based puzzle that’s dependent on story progress.

After you have restored power to the substation, it’s time to head back into downtown. This is not an easy task, as the parasite carriers are extremely fast and lethal. The Shotgun is very vital for this section, as is the dodge roll. It may take a few tries, but once you learn the pattern it should be very easy to do.

The subway office is your next stop, head back through the downtown area to the subway office room that has the train route board. The goal here is to plan the correct route for the train to use to escape the city. The red lines denote blocked routes, and you have to navigate around them. The correct solution is:

  • RE – 01
  • FA – 02
  • RA – 03
  • SA – 02
  • FO – 01

Input each of these selections and confirm them, the route should update with a green line each time you do this properly. Once you have the train route puzzle solved, it’s time to head back to meet up with Carlos at the subway. Be aware that this puzzle occurs during an ongoing fight with Nemesis, so you need to be quick about avoiding direct confrontation while also taking him out long enough to claim the rewards.
