Resident Evil 2 Remake is getting a European Steel Book Edition

Resident Evil 2 Steel Book Edition

Capcom announced yet another custom edition for the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake today.

The Steel Book Edition will be only available in European markets. Aside from the special case, players get access to a special costume for Claire Redfield. This version is basically the next step for throwing money at this game beyond the standard version. The Steel Book edition will be a physical release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

And while it’s not as insane as the Collector’s Edition with a Leon Kennedy statue, or as clearly over-the-top as the $900 Limited Edition with a keyboard made to look like a typewriter, it’s still great to see Capcom offering lots of options to fans of the games.

That costume is a reference to Elza Walker, the long-lost main character from the unreleased version of RE2, affectionately known to fans as Resident Evil 1.5. Check out more details about the Elza Walker costume if you want.
