Capcom has just released a new live action trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake ahead of the launch of the game tomorrow.
This new ad has a very nice webseries feel to it, and there’s even some nice layout choices that feel inspired by the level design in Resident Evil 2, so that’s cool. The trailer evokes a somewhat similar, and equally cheesy, ad from the 1998 release of BioHazard 2. And guess what? That older ad was directed by George A. Romero. Capcom looks to have a made a very fitting tribute to the late father of the modern undead genre.
If you’re hungry for more undead action, there was a launch trailer for the game that also teased the inclusion of HUNK and Tofu. And if you want to see more of the game in action, Capcom has plenty of treats for you. There was a recently released batch of trailers showing off sultry Ada Wong. The company also revealed new parts of the story involving the Birkin family, including some completely new areas. And in case you’re wondering, many of the iconic enemies from the original game are making a return, like the Lickers.
Check out the live-action trailer below. Resident Evil 2 will be released tomorrow on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, that’s January 25, 2019 for those of you now paying attention.
