Red Dead Redemption 2 releases another PC patch

Red Dead Redemption 2

The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 had a rather rough launch. The game has a variety of stability issues across multiple hardware configurations. Many users reported crashes and other problems from day one. Rockstar apologized and immediately began working on fixes for the game. And with the newest patch today, Rockstar is continuing that work. There are plenty of technical fixes and optimizations pushed in this patch.

Rockstar will no doubt continue their work on this great game, as there’s still a lot to be done to make the PC port shine. There have been some fixes released already over the last few weeks.  The fanbase was a little less than impressed though. The rocky launch led to a ton of issues, with many gamers unable to even play the game at all. Rockstar has since apologized for the rough launch and will be continuing to push updates as the game goes on.

This latest patch pushes out a bunch of fixes for various problems. Multi-core CPUs were identified as a problematic source for some issues, so Rockstar optimized the way the game runs on these. Graphical APIs like Vulkan have also been optimized. A bunch of crashing problems got fixed too. Various UI fixes are also included.

Here are the full patch notes:

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and you can also play it on Google Stadia if that’s your thing.
