Red Dead Online leak reveals game modes and vehicle lists

Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer 3

There’s a lot to do in Red Dead Redemption 2, from hunting to robbing, players will spend many an hour trekking across the old west trying to find fame and fortune, or maybe they’ll die trying. They’ll probably die, a lot. With duels, horse races and hungry packs of wolves, there’s plenty to do when playing the singleplay in Red Dead Redemption 2.

But now, the whole landscape of Red Dead is about to change forever with the introduction of Red Dead Online. In a not-that-surprising turn, Rockstar has modeled the new online gaming modes for Red Dead Redemption 2 after the online mode for Grand Theft Auto 5. What with tons of cosmetic bits and in-game items like weapons and vehicles to blast other people away with in the open-world mode.

And now, a new leak has revealed some of the important details about some aspects of the open-world online mode. In this case, there’s a bunch of new vehicles, some with some really impressive weapons, that will be out with the launch of the mode later this month.

Without further ado, here is the leaked vehicle list:

  • Horse Cart
  • Small Coach
  • Chuck Wagon
  • Chuck Wagon (Gatling Gun)
  • Supply Wagon
  • Utility Wagon
  • War Wagon

And it’s not just Wagons, there’s also a new batch of horses for players to choose from: the Hungarian Half Breed, Missouri Fox Trotter, Dutch Warmblood, and Turkoman breeds will be added.

Once again, when Red Dead Online launches later this month, and there’s no doubt that the list of vehicles will grow over time. And the price, according to these leaks, is apparently a placeholder of $500 in-game. Players will be able to earn money in-game by playing matches across various game modes. We can also assume that Rockstar will add new modes, missions and other bits to Red Dead Online over the following years.

And that’s not all that was revealed this weekend with leaks for the Red Dead Redemption 2 online mode. Another leak has unveiled some of the online game modes wherein players can earn rewards by playing. There’s a pretty interesting mix of modes, so here’s the full list of modes that will be available on the launch of Red Dead Online:

  • Mission
  • Deathmatch
  • Race
  • Survival
  • Capture
  • Last Team Standing
  • Parachuting

We don’t know much about these modes, but we do know that there will be special combat abilities that players can use to tip the balance in their favor.

The leak also detailed that players will have options when they are killed by another player online, those options are Respawn, Inform Law, Duel, and Parley. So it seems that not only will dueling be in the online mode, there’s also some kind of revenge mechanic that sends that lawmen after an enemy. This will probably work similarly to mugging in GTA V.

There’s also some suspicions among fans that the Red Dead Online system will also feature a character creation suite. This is assumed because the opening of the online mode features a custom avatar undertaking a prison breakout. Although you shouldn’t be concerned that this feature will allow too much trolling or vulgarity, if that concerns you, because Rockstar are openly banning a variety of vulgar words and expressions from the online mode.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
