Railway Empire is a game all about, you guessed it, building a railroad empire. In the game, players are tasked with constructing managing rail lines across a wide variety of maps and terrain types, all while trying to turn a profit. You have to manage industry, expand with demand in mind, and keep pace with the technological advancements of the era. And it’s not just a rail game, there’s also a pretty deep economic simulation wherein the production and distribution of dozens of products is simulated.
The newest DLC pack for the game, Crossing the Andes, adds a bunch of new features and options for the rail baron in your life to tinker with. The new terrain features of the newly added South America map are front and center, with tons of jungles and mountain passes to deal with, this map will be quite the challenge.
Crossing the Andes joins two other addon packs, Mexico and The Great Lakes in adding new maps, terrain and missions to the sprawling simulation game. In terms of actual gameplay additions, there’s a new South America map for both the Free Game and Sandbox modes, more than 10 new goods that include llama wool and guano, 34 new cities to discover and expand, as well as two new engines to run on your lines.
All of the new features stated above can be viewed in the brand new trailer for Crossing the Andes below. Railway Empire is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
