Rage 2 trailer showcases factions and vehicular mayhem

Rage 2 Eden Assault Gameplay

Rage 2 has a new trailer from id Software and Avalanche Studios. We get to see a lot of unseen weapons, abilities, and more vehicle combat over the course of this nearly 7-minute long video.

Rage 2 will have multiple factions of mutants and bandits, and we even meet a few in the trailer down below. The Goon Squad are the most prominent faction we’ve seen so far. Gamers don’t see much backstory for the group in this trailer though, as they’re too busy being blown to pieces.

Other groups include a techno-cult. There are likely to be more minor bandit and mutant groups as the destroyed and chaos-ruled wasteland no doubt contains endless horrors for the players to tangle with in Rage 2. There are groups like the Rangers of Vineland, which is the group the protagonist used to belong to. The Cult of the Death God, which is part of the pre-order bonus quest “Cult of the Death God”, are a pack of “mutant bandits” that worship the protagonist of the first RAGE, Nicholas Raine.

And of course it wouldn’t be a wasteland game without a Fascistic superpower trying to dominate the land. That group is known as the Authority in Rage 2. This highly organized and weaponized military force that controls and shapes the Wasteland how they see fit. And it will be up to the player to decide how to blast these slimebags to smithereens.

And since the dev team is taking the “open-world” label extremely seriously, id Software and Avalanche Studios are really committed to making the best possible game they can. According to the previous announcements and coverage, the game will have no gameplay-interrupting loading screens. So you’ll be able to blast apart bandits and mutants endlessly for your own enjoyment.

Rage 2 is scheduled to release in Spring of 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out that latest vehicle combat trailer down below.
