Rage 2 gets a gameplay trailer, releases in 2019
We’ve been teased and spoiled on Rage 2 all week now, and we finally have some more details about Bethesda and their upcoming sequel to Rage. Bethesda released a new gameplay trailer and blog post to share some more information on the game with fans. Check out the trailer below. There’s also some new screenshots that show new characters and landscapes in there too.
As one would expect, in similar style to the announcement trailer, this new trailer features the same technicolor nightmare of wasteland freaks. This cast of Road Warrior rejects is fighting, drinking and blasting their way across the post-apocalyptic wasteland brought on courtesy of a massive meteor strike, and we get to join them early next year when the game hits store shelves.
Now you’ll have to rage for justice and freedom. With ludicrous vehicle combat, super-powered first-person mayhem, and an open world full of emergent madness, you will tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling sadistic gangs to find the tools and tech needed to crush the oppressive rule of The Authority once and for all.
The game features a wide-open landscape with lots of variety. Players will have a multitude of vehicles and weapons to play with, and they have a unique set Overdrive abilities that lets them push their weapons and tools to the limit. Players can also enhance their weapons and other items through a deep upgrade system. And you will need all the help you can scrounge when going up against the mutants, drug-addled lunatics and other nasties of the wasteland.
Avalanche Studios is heading up development for the game. Let’s just hope that the collaboration with Mad Max devs pays off come 2019.
More information on all of that can be gleaned from this blog post. No concrete launch date as yet, but Rage 2 is expected at some point in spring 2019. Expect more from Bethesda’s #BE3 showcase on June 10 at 6.30pm PST/June 11 at 2.30am BST.
Rage 2 has a release window in 2019, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
