PUBG releases 0.5.0 patch that adds new map

PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has finally dropped its 0.5.0 update for mobile platforms, and it’s a cool collection of QoL features. A Tweet from the dev team revealed the main features of the release. Namely, the Miramar Map, progression missions, secret stash and local quick teams are all part of the new update.

The update will be rolled out to different regions over the next couple of days. Most players should be able to access the patch content as of downtime today. Different OS users should have the update at the same time though.

But isn’t just a new map and matchmaking features improving the lives of PUBG players. A new set of Twitch filters has been released specifically for the Battle Royale title. As outlined in the announcement tweet, viewers can now select ‘More Than 50′, ’25-50’ or ‘Fewer Than 25’ as they hone in on the action, allowing players to skip the more tedious segments of a match when they’re watching the game.

Those are the only filters added so far, but there are plenty of suggestions from Twitch users, such as the ability to search by map or the amount of viewers. Twitch will have to consider these ideas going forward, so there’s hope that more will be added in the future.
