PUBG and Horizon Zero Dawn announce collaboration content
Sony has been really great these past couple of years about bringing new content to established games and franchises through collaborations with other developers. And Horizon Zero Dawn has been one of the more consistent sources of collaborative content as part of this strategy, and now it’s making the jump to a new game.
Horizon Zero Dawn and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are coming together for a new skin designed to mimic the tribal aesthetic of Horizon in the popular battle royale title. The Corpse cosmetic set comprises four pieces, each with their own requirements to unlock. They’re all actually pretty easy to get, here’s the full list of what you need to do to unlock each piece:
- The HZD Eclipse Mask is earned by playing ten games
- The HZD top is earned simply for logging in
- The HZD Kar98k can be unlocked for 8k BP
- The HZD Pan can be earned by killing ten players with a crossbow
Earning this grim new set will certainly be something PUBG fans will want to do, as it looks really cool. Sony and PUBG Corp. put a fair amount of work into making this collab, so they’re hoping fans are just as excited about it.
Roy Postma, the Art Director of Guerilla Games had the following to say about the deal:
“When we first spoke with the development team of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS about adding Horizon Zero Dawn themed items, we instantly thought of the Eclipse. This secretive and militaristic cult fits perfectly in the PUBG universe; its members dress in intimidating ceremonial garb, intended to strike fear into the hearts of all who dare oppose them. Their warlike nature is displayed by their use of ejected bullet casings from ancient war machines, which they work into rosaries and other ornamental motifs, as well as their masks, which they use to hide their identities.”
