The PS4 is getting a new horror game with S.O.N.
If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers and horror games, we’ve got a treat for you. S.O.N (or South of Nowhere) is bringing that particular blend to the PS4 in a new game.
Throughout the course of the game players take control of Robert Alderson on the hunt for his missing son. And because this is a horror game set in an open-world outdoors environment, expect a lot of environmental cues for the different scares and tension you’ll experience. The game takes place in a Pennsylvania forest, so there’s plenty of opportunity for spookiness.
Judging from the trailer there’s plenty of focus going into using audio and lighting to scare the bejesus out of the player. ambient tones, quiet footsteps, and the sound of silence build out a creepy audio experience, which is augmented by everything from ominous messages over the radio to undead monstrosities trapped in trees, all bundled together in one horrible package.
S.O.N is the first release from RedG Studios, and it’s due on December 11th, exclusive to PS4. You can learn more about this new horror title by going to the developers official site. Check out the latest trailer for the game down below.
