CCP have been quietly working on a number of updates to EVE Online, but they’re also working on a pair of titles set in the EVE universe. As CCP are readying the Lifeblood expansion for this December, there are a number of new titles in the EVE canon being developed.
One of which is Project Nova, the successor to the PS3 FPS Dust 514 that CCP shut down in 2016. CCP have been working with the Sheffield-based Sumo Digital on the game, according to CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson. We don’t have much to say about Nova as there is little other information out there, but Pétursson also hinted that more news was coming in regards to Project Nova in the near future.

CCP released a handful of WIP screenshots which you can see below. These give us the impression that Project Aurora will function like another F2P space game, Vega Conflict, as the base building and overall map design do share some similarities to that title.
Project Aurora is described as a massively multiplayer mobile experience filled with epic player stories. “In Project Aurora, players must work together to dominate the center of the galaxy, and become the most powerful corporation in the universe.”
Project Aurora is set to release in a limited number of territories “in the near future”, with a full release scheduled for 2018.
